Pcb s being insulators, during normal process handling, generate surface static. This charge acts as a magnet attracting any loose contaminants that surround the working environment. Allow these into the smt process of printing solder paste or adhesive and they directly affect end of line yields, pass rates, joint integrity and product reliability.
Board dust, glass splinters, packaging particles, loose resist, human hair, clothing fibres, skin flakes and airborne contamination should not exist within any electronic assembly.
Installing a 2-step transfer cleaning system into your process will eliminate these contaminants. A specially formulated elastomer roller, contacts the pcb surface developing a surface energy lifting off any loose contaminant, these in turn are transferred to a high performance adhesive roll where they are trapped and subsequently removed as the adhesive is purged from the working environment.
